Connections men's yoga

£10 a session or 10 for £90
Yoga is a wonderful physical and mental discipline that can help your overall wellbeing.
We're working with a highly experienced yoga teacher, Sarah Robinson from Essential Beauty, who's been running a men’s yoga class for a number of years. The classes run at Carmenta Life, in Berkhamsted.
Sarah says: "Yoga does not just improve your muscle tone, flexibility and cardiovascular, but also works on every body system, your mind and your spirituality. Yoga is for everyone and you can start at any point in your life.
"Each class I teach is a different flow so you will never get bored in practicing. You can have fun as you practice and have time to try out new positions from arm balances to inversions. I can help with building muscle strength, tone your core and gain flexibility in your body. You will naturally tone as you progress each week. I am an enthusiast in healthy eating and living well and wish you to perform at your best from inside out."

"I have to say I was not keen when a friend suggested I join him at an all male yoga class just starting up in Berkhamsted. I am tall (6 ft 5in), heavy (18 stone) and don’t look good in Lycra.
I had recently been diagnosed with PTSD after being run over whilst on duty as a paramedic in London. Luckily I escaped with minor physical injuries, but the mental injury was more severe than I had realised. I had become very angry and had a rage inside that I had difficulty controlling. Like most men and paramedics, I had not looked for help.
At the first session I was immediately reassured by the instructor that she was not expecting too much from us, looking directly at me – I had not laughed out loud for a long time.
Over the next few Mondays, I felt my inner calm returning, my head clearing of anger, and amazingly my old body’s aches and pains that I had just accepted as part of getting older diminishing and some disappeared completely.
Monday evenings became a huge part of my life, Not only was I physically feeling better, but my mental state had improved 100%. We laughed almost every session, and you could feel and feed off the relaxation in the room.
I don’t normally recommend things, but I recommend this yoga class. We all know how mental health affects us, but rarely do we address it, as we are often afraid to seek help. This is an extremely straightforward, effective and fun way to tackle physical and mental problems that will limit our lives if not addressed. Please give it a go. You don’t have to wear Lycra!"
