Congratulations to Joan Fisher!
We couldn't be prouder of Joan Fisher, our co-founder and general manager, who's the worthy winner of the
Berkhamsted Rotary Centenary Civic Award for 2021. Joan's work for Open Door and The Way Inn has made such a huge difference to our community, and her compassion and tenacity are legendary!
As is her humility, and in true Joan style, she'd like to dedicate this award to EVERYONE who is part of the Open Door and Way Inn family.
Joan says: "A huge thank you to all the team, my fellow trustees, and all the staff and volunteers and artists at The Way Inn Bookshop, Post Office and Upstairs Gallery. All the fabulous team, volunteers and tutors at Open Door - nothing would have happened without them. As well as all our supporters, especially over the time of Covid.
"There are too many people to thank for all their donations and gifts, who have enabled us to deliver over 3,500 meals so far and to provide a safe, beautiful space for people to visit, but here are some people I'd especially like to say thank you to.
